Beverly Hills Theatre Guild annually sponsors the
California Musical Theatre Award Competition to
discover new musical theatre works and to encourage
established or emerging writers to create quality
works for the musical theatre. The California
Musical Theatre Award Competition offers the
following prize for best musical:
The Irma & Louis Colen
California Musical Theatre Award: $4,000
The Beverly Hills
Theatre Guild offers no production for the
prize-winning musical but reserves the right for a
possible abridged book-held, one time presentation
to the public. Entries must be accompanied by the
application form and a CD or cassette of music, and
in accordance with the
submission policies and
procedures. The playwright may request an
application form from the competition office, and
must enclose a self-addressed, stamped, #10-business
sized envelope (SASE) to:
