Depends…if I’m at a club or smewhere with a hard floor, shoes obviously work better. But if I’m at home, then barefoot works better, so my feet won’t slip.

    bare foot.
    no question.
(unless of course it’s that one dance you do on coals in africa or something lol)

  3. tecvba Says:

Absolutely must be barefoot to get the real feel of the music through the floor

  4. emblebeegirl Says:

barefoot, unless the guy tends to step on your feet

I will dance any way. I don’t care as long as I’m dancing and fellin good!!

  6. merrybodner Says:

Wear comfortable shoes. The guy could step on your feet..who knows what’s been on the floor…and you need arch support.

Always dane with the (toe) shoes on for grace.

it is nasty and uncivilized to walk around with bare feet..

If you cannot walk and function in the shows you aught not wear them at all…. and also… the floors in clubs and dance halls are terribly dirty, why would you want to walk around in that mess anyway

    EEEEeeeeeeeee

ballett shoes or for ordinary dance bare foot

  13. DanceCat Squiggy Says:

It really depends on the dance itself. If I’m freestyle dancing at home I prefer my barefeet. But even at home if I’m dancing latin dance styles I prefer something to prop my heels up. If I’m dancing and I want to do effective turns I need some kind of shoes on.

Depending on how long you are gonna stay on the dance floor, heels do make you dance more sexy though.
If i had a choise bare foot. You can do whatever!!

I think it depends on the dance and where you are. At a little feat concert in some small hippie town it would only be natural to have bare feet, at a club in L.A. only god knows what exactly is on that floor and unless you would want to find out, it would be a good idea to wear shoes. Most dancers who pursue it as an interest would have dancing shoes, which should be comfortable and have arch supports so they can live a long life with happy feet. I personally wear shoes, I love shoes… maybe too much!

if your in nightclub or something I Like to dance barefoot or with comfy but fashionable shoes on. If you mean in a dance class, then I would wear the shoes hat suit the type of dance you are doing. e.g. pointe shoes for ballet, jazz shoes for modern and so on..

    barefoot

    BAREFOOT!! definately…
idk why but my feet hurt like CRAZY when i wear shoes. well im talking about jazz and lyrical. for ballroom dancing definately shoes cuz u gotta get up there to your partner!! haha not really.
actually i like to wear knee highs when i dance, idk why. either knee highs or foot undies (things that look like underwear that slip on your feet to help u turn…ur heel is exposed). i just cant stand wearing shoes. i can jump and leap higher barefoot.

PS: im too young for clubs…and if i did go to clubs i would definately wear shoes, like the kind of shoes u wear to clubs. but not jazz shoes…

i like half-soles because i don’t like full shoes like pedinis or ballet slippers. in half soles you can feel the floor but still have material to turn on

Depends…..i prefer barefoot, but it also varies on what kind of surface I’m dancing on……and how much time
Some types of dance require you to wear shoes so it is comfortable (example: ballet, tap….)
    but, yeeeeaaah……definitely barefoot. :-]

    shoes… feet are YUCKY

  22. Sheriam Says:

I haven’t worn footwear for over ten years, I couldn’t dance in shoes and my feet are tough enough I really don’t have to worry about a bit of glass! But in the end it all should be personal preference, I know people who always wear shoes even in their home and who have very tender feet, they’d easily get sore if they did *any* turning or twisting without footwear. The one thing I can’t understand is people dancing in high heels, but even there some folks swear they’re doing fine in them.

  23. petty Says:

it all depends in what kind of song you dance if you dance the real fast ones then with out shoes but if you dance with the the ones that are love songs well I would think that you dont have to take your shoes off some girls we can handle all with shoes, right? Ladys?

  24. Cassiopeia Says:

I bellydance, so dancing barefoot is standard for me. I can even dance barefoot outside on hot concrete.

But for ballroom or club dancing with a partner, shoes work better for quick spins and such.

  25. Rhianna Says:

I always dance barefoot unless there is some rule we have to wear shoes (which never has happened). I have tried all types of dancing and wearing any type of footwear makes me stumble. Plus it is much more comfortable and easier to balance in bare feet. It also allows you to feel the beat and passion as well I find when there is nothing on your feet when on the dance floor.

I don’t know if I’ve ever been dancing with a guy that didn’t end up stepping on at least one of my feet at least once during the evening. So I’ll wear shoes. HOWEVER…
The last time I went dancing, we went to a club that played Latino music. There was no slow dancing, at least not as I recognize slow dancing. I was an idiot; I wore heels. We danced almost every dance. My feet hurt for two days.
