My wife and I disagree. I say definetly (if they are not gross obviously). I am not going to go out and spend $30+ on new soccer shoes if my daughter is not going to play more than one season or just to see if she likes it.

I agree, it is a form of recycling, and you can always wash the shoes and/or spray them with Lysol. As far as for kids… they grow so fast anyway, so what’s the big deal- save money!!

I already bought em for me…
Of course, I’m a pig. ( not that my comment reflects on anyone else…)
My kids…? I worked 75 hours last week so they wouldn’t have new things.
Warm regards,
Douglas

I have to agree with you wife. Obviously gross or not, it’s not a good idea to wear someone else’s shoes and no amount of sanitizing could convince me differently.

I don’t see the problem. It’s recycling, I try to buy a lot of items from thrift stores. Better that having things dumped in land fills.
Just wash the shoes if it bothers you.
And when she’s done with soccor, someone else can have them. Keep it going..

Use your common sense. If the shoes look too gross or stinky, don’t do it. But if they really are “gently used”, I don’t see the problem. Just wash them and spray down with Lysol. Unless the kid is licking the shoes with their tongue, I think they will survive.

I have always purchased 2nd hand cleats for my kids and just throw them in the washer and air dry in the sun (good as new!)–they are very expensive to purchase for such a short season when they grow so fast!!
