My husband and I always wore shoes growing up even in the house and we have no foot problems. I keep reading how bad shoes are for kids feet. Is it these kids in these studies wore inproper fitting shoes or what?
In never cheap out on shoes and either did my parents. We never wore sandals or flip flops either.
My kids always have shoes and socks on sometimes until bedtime and they have no foot problems from it. I think it’s part of a pro barefoot agenda. There are websites out their that go as far to claim that childhood disease is caused by kids wearing shoes. I did some research and found those same people on foot fetish websites.
Why do they say that shoes are bad for kids feet?

it’s to do with the foot being allow to develop with out restrictions, so they say no shoes until the child can walk unaided. and then only outside
I see your point thou, i was always in shoes as a baby/child and my feet are fine

China makes 80 % of the worlds shoes.
‘Nough said.
Children grow in spurts. Parents neglect to realize this and children often are wearing ill fitting shoes. Cost is often a factor.

Shoes are not bad for kids feet.
Shoes are bad for babies feet because it restricts their arches/bone/general foot development, esp when the shoes have hard soles. Baby should be walking first before they get shoes.
Hand me down shoes are bad because they have conformed to someone else’s foot and can be stressful on the feet. It’s like wearing someone else’s custom made dress. You made be approximately the same size, but you will always be uncomfortable in it.

I watched a thing on TV about that. It’s actually a marketing gimmick to get mothers to buy the new improved baby shoes. The "new and improved baby shoes" are all made by designers and cost double if not triple then normal baby shoes. Kids shoes are fine as long as they fit well. If parents are buying shoes too big or too small, then yes they’re going to have problems just like any normal person would.

my opinion is that shoes should be worn where its necessary, to school, playing sport, playing outside
but not inside, as soon as my daughter gets home and we are in the house i say take off your shoes, give your feet the air to breathe the chance to stretch a bit
