Trying to buy shoes online and saw that as a selection in sizes and didn’t want to purchase the wrong size.

I can only assume it is Y for youth sizes.

that means 5 youth. I sell shoes at a dept. store. Also for women, here if it says 2A, that means narrow width; B that is medium width, where D is wide width. Just in case you noticed that too.
