What do you think about forcing kids to go to church? What would you do in the kids shoes?
2 hours a week, to me, is a small price to pay for free food & a roof over your head — mind you I wouldn’t force my kids… just saying.

Well if you don’t …
Well if you don’t believe in the god, then I think it’s not good that the parents force you to go.

I’m glad that u see …
I’m glad that u see that its reasonable for kids to go to church with their parents. that’s cool. I went to Church with my parents as a kid, but I had a different experience than you, I enjoyed it, was empowered and encouraged by the preaching and am now a devout Christian and go to Church and have a good time there all the time. COurse our Church we look right into the Bible and have a good time not a lot of boring ceremony n stuff like that

I’m so with you. …
I’m so with you. It’s not like going to church is going to hurt a kid. It’s not traumatic, and they might even make friends with kids whom they wouldn’t have met otherwise. And Christianity has some good lessons in there too, about you know like loving your neighbor and being honest and all that.

I’m not a christian …
I’m not a christian and even I know that old testament stuff isn’t relevant today. They don’t make sacrifices anymore, either, as far as I know.

I was never forced …
I was never forced to go to church, and I was lucky enough that my mom never forced religion on me. When I said, “Fuck it.” That was it, and my mom wasn’t happy, but she listened to my feelings and thoughts.
Through high school, I went to church MANY times, willingly. I am agnostic, and a lot of the time probably atheist, but I love to learn about it all. It’s an interesting story whether you believe in it or not. Probably because i wasn’t forced to be interested.

Nothing wrong with …
Nothing wrong with people having faith. Just all faiths shouldn’t be forceful on anyone. As for kids, I see nothing wrong with children learning about a faith, but being pressured or forced into rituals, commitments, etc… that they don’t agree with, is forcing the kid to lie. Every kid who was forced to take confirmation is lying to the church. They don’t want to be a Catholic,Lutheran, etc…I think this is what most people disagree with. Why force? If they don’t believe thats their choice.
