I work long hours in a kitchen, and also commute between kitchen jobs on my bike.

I had this problem last year, finding a comfortable shoe to wear to work, standing and walking around for up to 12 hours per day. My feet and ankles were nearly crippled when i got home, and very painful…i took a survey of everyone, and everyone i worked with unanimously claimed that DANSKOS were some heavenly shoe and that walking/standing in them for 12 hours would be nothing at all.

I shelled out over 100 bucks for these stupid ugly freaking shoes, broke them in (been wearing them since December!!!) and you know what? THEY SUCK. worst, most uncomfortable, awkward clunky shoe I have EVER worn. Again, I took everyone’s advice and kept wearing them, waiting, waiting for them to finally break in and magically be as comfortable as everyone claimed. Well, that day never came. I am still in pain every single say, not to mention I am very tall and they are downright dangerous for someone who never wears any kind of shoe with a heel.

I HATE CLOGS. I think they are butt-ugly in the first place, and need recommendations for other brands/styles of shoes. I also purchased a pricey pair of Clarks, previously…which also just couldn’t cut it for 12 hour days and promptly fell apart.

I have the freedom to wear any style shoe at my current jobs, and am thinking about some type of athletic style shoe. I need suggestions on comfortable, stylish athletic shoes that will support my ankles and feet for long hours at a time.

Thanks, sorry for the long winded complaint…just want to explain why i REFUSE to consider Danskos or crocs or any of those ugly, overpriced and under-comfortable shoes an option..

I really don’t like tennis shoes very much, and I normally wear flats or flip flops, but this fall I am going to need more comfortable shoes to walk around a college campus in. Do you know of any cute tennis shoes that don’t look like athletic or running sneakers?

I am looking for a very SUPPORTIVE shoe, preferably nike or nike shox. I have flat feet and wear orthodics, therefore I know Nike fits but I have no idea what is the most supportive shoe. (Athletic Shoes)
Links are great also!!!!!!
Thanks!
