This video shows the method I use to polish my BDU boots. This method can also be used with your dress shoes or any other leather shoes.
There are many other ways to polish boots but I know that this way works because I used it on my own boots. I hope this video will help cadets learn how to polish their boots and make their uniform even better.

The reason why …
The reason why lighters are a bad idea is because they dry out the leather,they burn your boots invisibly, and the fumes from the polish is very dangerous.

the way I learned …
the way I learned how to polish was to clean off boots with a cleanx, take the polish and hold, rub it around, use a rag to spread it, reclean with a cleanx, and rub slowly with a wax rag used on automobiles. my boots get a great shine from it.

i hated polishing boots in training … not as much as i hated making a mirror sheen in my parade boots though…

i start by melting …
i start by melting on about 4 layers of polish before i even start buffing. Then I bust out the Parade Gloss and a little bit of water to bring out the shine. This guy seemed to get good results too though.

Don’t use a lighter, it cracks the polish and why are you polishing combat boots, thery’re met to be blackend, parade boots are met to be shined.
